SOLON– Solon’s varsity volleyball team escaped No. 12 Central DeWitt on the road and moved up another notch in the rankings last week.
“DeWitt did a good job of taking us out of our game, but the girls showed enough maturity to end up winning in four,” noted Head Coach Kurt Trout. “Our defense, led by Rylee Smith, did a great job picking up the offense on an off night.”
Solon captured the first two games narrowly, 26-24 and 25-23, but DeWitt took the third game by another narrow score, 23-25. The Lady Spartans rallied in the fourth game, by another close score, 25-20.
