West defends the mats, defeats four teams in home invitational

IOWA CITY– Mark Reiland’s West High grapplers have proven time and again to be a force to be reckoned with. Saturday, Jan. 11, was one of those times as the Trojans invited Lewis Central, Pleasant Valley, Ankeny and Wilton to their house for a day of fun on the mats. However, the day wasn’t much fun for the guests as West High rolled on to victory over all four.

Pointers sink Clippers, CCA rallies against North Linn

CCA’s Schropp, Brechtel, Murphy, Wessling, Chalfant and Manard all win by fall

North Liberty Leader
CENTER POINT– Scott Slifka’s Stormin’ Pointers did it again. For the second time this season, the Center Point-Urbana (CPU) squad put a win into the books over the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Clippers. CPU won 66-12 on the Clippers’ mats back in early December and followed that performance with a 54-21 win Thursday, Jan. 9, in Center Point.
The Clippers rebounded to take a 48-18 win over the North Linn Lynx.

Frustration plagues Clipper girls

Fouls, free throws, turnovers help Beckman sink CCA

TIFFIN– Before Saturday night’s varsity match between the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Clippers and the Dyersville Beckman Blazers, Clipper coach Matt Haas said he thought having the previous night off (the CCA-Western Dubuque game was postponed due to icy roads) would benefit his team.
After the 45-40 loss to the Blazers, a frustrated and upset Haas summed up the game.
