Heartbreak and triumph

By Chris Umscheid
North Liberty Leader
ANAMOSA– Tragedy and triumph came in the same week for Clear Creek Amana’s (CCA) cross country team. Last Monday (Oct. 17), a car carrying six members of the squad was involved in a collision on US Highway 6 just west of the high school. Five students were injured and freshman Mackenzie Lown was killed.
On Tuesday, the team decided they wanted to practice, to “run for Mackenzie,” they said.
