SOLON– The Spartans took on two powerhouses in one day and came out without a loss last week. The boys’ soccer squad defeated West Liberty 3-1 at West Liberty Saturday and then traveled to Davenport Assumption later that day for a scoreless tie. Tim Lance scored twice for the Spartans and Nick Brown added a goal on a penalty kick against the Comets. Brandan Childs was credited with an assist. Joe Weeks had four saves in the goal. MAQUOKETA– The Solon boy’s track team took advantage of some decent weather last week, winning one invitational meet, and finishing second at another.
