Blues kids to make their own music
NORTH LIBERTY– North Liberty Blues & BBQ is revving up, and the planning committee needs some assistance. Don’t worry, you are not going to be asked to buy wrapping paper, popcorn or cookies.
We want your junk.
Yes, that’s right, we want your trash.
Blues & BBQ is North Liberty’s free annual music festival, this year scheduled for Saturday, May 26, beginning at 11 a.m. A new element to this year’s party will be the children’s Musical Playing Ground, where kids make musical instruments from materials (a.k.a. junk) they’d find at home.
Collection bins are located throughout town, at the North Liberty Community Center, Penn Elementary School, North Bend Elementary School, Garner Elementary School, Van Allen Elementary School, North Central Jr. High School and the North Liberty Food & Clothing Pantry.
Give us your junk; we’ll make beautiful music together.
The celebration, music and children’s activities are free, made possible by the support of area sponsors and community donations.
