Cecilia Marie Kessler, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, in her home after a short illness. Services were held Aug. 31 at St. Patrick Catholic Church by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Cecilia is survived by her husband, Clarence; two sons, James and John (Amy) Kessler, all of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Bernadine (Marvin) Goody of Lone Tree.
Cecilia was born in Hills on Sept. 20, 1925, the daughter of James and Blanche Vedepo Lynch. She married Clarence Joseph Kessler on Dec. 28, 1948, in Iowa City, and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church. She retired in 1991 from Quaker Oats where she had been employed for 22 years.
