Creek Girls third at Williamsburg quad

Greathouse leads with 51

WILLIAMSBURG– Clear Creek Amana’s (CCA) varsity girls golf team placed third in a four-team field Monday, April 17, at Williamsburg’s quad meet. Vinton-Shellsburg won the meet with a total score of 190, followed by the host Raiders (192), the Clippers (218) and Marion (224).
Allison Greathouse led the Creek Girls with a 51, followed by Emma Davis (52), Sheyanne Koethe (56), Payton Beckler (59), Thea Clennon (60) and Emily Greathouse (63).
CCA hosts Solon and South Tama on Thursday, April 27, at the Amana Golf Course at 4 p.m. and competes in the WaMaC Divisional Meet on Monday, May 1, at the Tara Hills Golf Course (1846 70th St., Van Horne), starting at 4 p.m. On Tuesday, May 2, the Clippers host Grinnell at Amana also starting at 4 p.m. The WaMaC Conference Meet is set for Monday, May 8, at the Wildcat Golf Course (100 Wildcat Trail, Shellsburg), starting at 9 a.m.

AMANA– The Mount Vernon Mustangs galloped home with a dual meet win Tuesday, April 18, defeating the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Clippers on the boys’ home course in Amana. The Mustangs totaled 170 to the Clippers’ 193 for the win. Mount Vernon’s Drew Wolfe medaled with a 37 for the afternoon, while CCA’s Brandon McCarty was the runner-up with 39.
The Mustang junior varsity (JV) squad won 193 to CCA’s 245 with Austin Ash leading the JV Mustangs with 44, while CCA’s Kaden Gisleson led the Clippers with 56.
CCA travels to the Tama-Toledo Country Club, 806 West 13th St. in Tama, on Friday, April 28, to take on the South Tama Trojans at 4 p.m. They compete in the WaMaC Divisional Meet Monday, May 1, also at Tama-Toledo, starting at 3 p.m.
