Clipper boys seventh at Benton XCountry Invitational

ATKINS– Jack Murray led the Clear Creek Amana (CCA) Clippers Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Benton Invitational cross-country meet. A dozen teams met at the Roundhouse Nature Trails, site of the former Milwaukee Road railroad roundhouse with Mount Vernon-Lisbon taking the team title with 59 points and a combined time of 89:34.
Vinton-Shellsburg, Waterloo Columbus Catholic, Solon, Benton Community, Williamsburg, CCA, Columbus Community, Alburnett and Independence rounded-out the 10 teams scored. Gladbrook-Reinbeck and Meskwaki fielded incomplete teams.
Murray finished in seventh place in 17:26 and the Clippers placed seventh overall with a total time of 94:40 and 160 points.
