Creek Boys fall in double OT to Raiders

TIFFIN– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) boys varsity soccer team dipped to 8-5 overall after the Williamsburg Raiders won, 1-0, in the second overtime period on Tuesday, May 9, in Tiffin.
The Clippers made seven shots on goal, but were unable to get past the Raider’s keeper. CCA keeper Ian McDonald made three saves in the effort. Williamsburg improved to 8-4 overall.
CCA travels to Monticello on Thursday, May 18, to close out the regular season at 4:30 p.m. ahead of substate play and the battle to earn a trip to Des Moines for the state tournament.
District first round is set for Monday, May 22, second round is Wednesday, May 24, and the substate final is set for Saturday, May 27. The 2017 Boys State Soccer Tournament is set for Thursday, June 1, through Saturday, June 3, at the Cownie Soccer Complex in Des Moines.
