Creek Girls sweep the Bobcats, 3-0

TIFFIN– The Clear Creek Amana (CCA) varsity volleyball team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of the visiting Benton Community Bobcats Tuesday, Sept. 8, in Tiffin.
The Clippers held off the Bobcats for a 25-17 first-set win, overpowered them, 25-15, in the second, and dominated, 25-12, in the third. Junior Calia Clubb led the Creek Girls with 11 kills, while freshman Bliss Beck produced nine and senior Hailey Pollock made eight.
With the win, the Clippers moved atop the WaMaC West standings with Independence and Vinton-Shellsburg (1-0 in conference play) sharing second place in the conference. The Creek Girls also moved up two spots in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union’s weekly volleyball rankings, released on Thursday, Sept. 10. CCA was ranked at No. 7 in Class 4A, up from No. 9 the previous week.
