David Wohlenberg

David L. Wohlenberg, 50, of Fairbanks, Alaska, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, of natural causes.

David was born May 26, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa, son of Donald L. and Charlotte L. (Johnson) Wohlenberg. He graduated from Iowa City West High in 1979 and a few years later moved to Alaska, where he’s lived since. He was drawn to Alaska’s natural beauty and vast wilderness. He enjoyed all nature had to give, especially the wildlife that surrounded him from day to day. In Alaska, David worked as a finish carpenter and took great pride in his work and craftsmanship.
Local survivors include his sister, Becky (Kent) Pearson of North Liberty.
