Dolores I. Tomash, 87, of Swisher, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Celebration of Life services were held June 12 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, with burial following in Anderson Cemetery in Swisher.
Dolores was born Aug. 3, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jerry and Louise (Blahnik) Kosina. She married Frank Tomash on June 12, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed playing the accordion, baking and cooking, traveling, and shelling in Florida. Family time was very important to her, especially with the grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a member of New Encouters for many years.
Dolores is survived by her children, Sandy (Jim) Hynek of Swisher, Steve (Sandy) Tomash of Fairfax and Scott (Julie) Tomash of Swisher; seven grandchildren Curt (Kim) Hynek, Brian (Lisa) Hynek, Kari (Jason) Wachtl, Todd (Melissa) Tomash, Jill (Scott) Radeke, Jennifer (Brandon) Zinser and Jessica Tomash; twelve great-grandchildren Jesse, Calvin, Coilee, Jeremiah, Treyten, Savannah, Graham, Tanner, Kylie, Kaylee, Landon and Chandler; two sisters-in-law Maxine Tomash and Audrey Kosina, as well as several cousins.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, who died in 1991, a sister Marjorie Benesh and her brother Bob Kosina. Memorials may be directed to the family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.broshchapel.com.
