Douglas Craig Foster, 62, of North Liberty, passed away at his home Monday, June 24, 2013, surrounded by family. As were his wishes, he was cremated. A celebration of life was held at the family farm on June 27.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Susan Foster; daughter Traci (Chad) Wood of North Liberty; son Jason (Jody) Foster of Harris, Minn.; three grandchildren: Colton Wood and Kenadi Wood, both of North Liberty and Jared Foster of Harris, Minn.; brothers, Larry (Judy) Phippen of Atlantic, Jack (Alberta) Phippen of Council Bluffs and Keith (Karen) Foster of Redding, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one niece and one nephew.
Douglas Craig Foster was born July 29, 1950, to Harry Joe and Loretta Mae (Duskin) Foster in Council Bluffs. On Feb. 14, 1971, he married Susan Tessman in Audubon. Douglas worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation for 35 years before retiring in 2005. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. Douglas loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
