Edward Gail Huffman, 81, died peacefully at his home in Horseshoe Bend, Ark., on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011.
Edward was born May 19, 1930, in Iowa City, the son of Leroy and Agnes (Cizek) Huffman. Following graduation from City High School, Edward joined the National Guard, where he served from 1947 to 1949. He then joined the U.S. Army and served from 1951 to 1952 in Germany during the Korean War.
Edward married Louise Villhauer on June 21, 1952, in Iowa City. Louise died in May 1989. He then married Audrey Cannady in Sept. 1990. They resided in North Liberty before they moved to Mesa, Ariz., in 1993 and finally moved to Horseshoe Bend, Ark., in 2005.
Local survivors include his children, Diane (Melvin) Rinehart, Nancy Harper, Edward (Julia) Huffman, Jackie Huffman and Letha (Bruce) Voight, all of North Liberty.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
