Elmer Grissel Jr.

Elmer Grissel Jr., 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. Private services were held at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cedar Rapids. Burial was at Rogers Grove Cemetery.
He was almost a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Local survivors include his son Timothy (Gayle) Grissel of Solon.
Elmer was born July 21, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, son of Elmer Frank and Sadie (Kohler) Grissel. On Sept. 29, 1944, he married Margaret Jenkins in Louisville, Ky. Elmer worked at Collins Radio, then at the family business Grissel Company, until he retired at age 62.
Instead of flowers memorials may be directed to Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospitals.
