Lenna See

Blaze Smith, grandson of Glenn and Frances Buresh, spent a week visiting relatives and friends. He is the son of Glenda and Shawn Smith of Tiffin and brother of Zane. He is moving from Hawaii to Orlando, Fla., where he will be employed.

Roy and Jennie Rambo, Dalton and Paige of Vinton and Shirley Worley enjoyed breakfast Saturday morning, July 16, at IHOP in Cedar Rapids. The occasion was to celebrate Shirley’s birthday.

Monday evening, July 18, the Ely Town and Country Club met at Gwen’s Restaurant in Lisbon for supper and meeting. There were 22 members and three guests present. Speaker for the evening was Deb Takes. She told about “Dan and Debbie’s Creamery”, a new business which will open on Saturday, July 30, in Ely. The creamery is owned and operated by Deb and her husband, Dan, and their family. It is located 1600 Main St., the former Vavra Lumber Company building. They will sell ice cream, milk and cheese curds. Hosts for the meeting were Bill and Irene Novak.

The 42nd Annual See Family Reunion was held on Sunday, July 10, at the community center in Ely. A potluck dinner was enjoyed at noon. The minutes from last year were read by Lenna See. Forty-nine members and four guests attended from Anltlers, Okla., Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Brandon, Hiawatha, Olin, Lisbon, Mount Vernon, Solon and Ely. Attending from out of state were Daryl and Fran Parks of Antlers, Okla. Since the reunion last year there were four marriages, four births, one adoption, and one death. The eldest lady attending was Carly Netolicky, 78, and the eldest man was Marvin Livermore, 84. The youngest was Alaina Kramer, 16-month-old daughter of Amanda and Sam Kramer. Hosts were James A. See and Connie Lamerson.

Russel and Barb Maresh of rural Ely and Ramona Maresh and Rob Verry of Iowa City attended the 95th birthday party for a family friend in Botha, Alberta, Canada. On their return home they toured Glacier National Park, Yellowstone Park, the Black Hills and the Badlands. They were gone 10 days.
