Emma Anderson, 94, a resident of Manor Care died there on Tuesday Dec. 24, 2013, after a long illness. Services were Dec. 28 at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, John (Joyce) of Cedar Rapids and James (Janann) of Swisher. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Diane Gardenmann, a sister Libby Dostal, and a brother Tony Kudrna.
Emma was born on June 11, 1919, in Marion, the daughter of Anton and Anna Loukata Kudrna. She married John T. Anderson on June 19, 1936, in Rock Island, Ill. John passed way in 1992.
Emma was the co-owner of Anderson Towing and Crane Service with her husband for over 45 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion where she participated in the Kitchen Band and would play for residents at area nursing homes.
