Frances “Fran” L. Dubishar, 86, of Amana, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Solon Nursing and Rehab Skilled Center in Solon. Celebration of Life was Jan. 25 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, with the Rev. Mike Townsley presiding. Burial followed in Czech National Cemetery.
Frances was born Feb. 24, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Josef and Frantiska (Kubovec) Habota. She graduated from McKinley High School in 1944. She married Vernon A. Dubishar on April 26, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. She was a bookkeeper for Cedar Rapids Credit Bureau and retired from Armstrong’s in the marking room. Fran and Vernon farmed for many years in the Amana area.
Local survivors include her children, Jackie Mundorf, Dan (Susan) Dubishar, Kathy (Joe Fencl) Mackey all of Swisher; and Eldred “Hank” Dubishar of Solon.
