Free child health and safety fair to be held Sept. 20

NORTH LIBERTY– The public is invited to First United Methodist Church of North Liberty to enjoy the annual free child health and safety fair Saturday, Sept. 20. First United Methodist Church is located at 85 N. Jones Blvd., about a block south of the corner of Penn Street and North Jones Boulevard.
The event starts at 9 a.m. and goes until noon. There will be many booths with free information, free face painting, balloon making with Brian Hinshaw, a drum circle with Dennis and Kathy Boyd, and music from this summer’s vacation Bible school fun. Members of the North Liberty fire and police departments will be on hand to show children their department vehicles. Liberty Pharmacy will be there with mascot Katie Kangaroo, and parents will have an opportunity to have their children fingerprinted with the FBI’s Child ID safety program. Hearing and speech testing will be conducted by Ashley Mitchell. Pediatric Dentistry and volunteers from the North Liberty Food Pantry will be passing out healthy snacks. Enjoy the bouncy house and so much more.
The entire community is welcome to this free, fun event for the whole family.
