Free dance classes begin Feb. 11
NORTH LIBERTY– Area teens ages 13-18 are invited to sign up now for a free, four-week session of dance classes taught by the University of Iowa Dancers In Company, held at the North Liberty Recreation Center on Saturday mornings from Feb. 11 to March 4.
The series of hour-long workshops will teach components of hip-hop, jazz and modern dance, as well as opportunities to learn combinations from the company’s repertoire. On week four, participants will travel as a group to the University of Iowa to see Dancers in Company perform at 1 p.m.
Classes are geared toward people ages 13-18, with no previous experience necessary. Registration is free, but required for participation. Ten participants are needed in order to host this event. This free workshop is offered through a partnership with the North Liberty Community Library and Recreation Center, Arts Share and the University of Iowa Dancers In Company.
