H1N1 vaccine providers open eligibility

IOWA CITY– As of Monday, Dec. 14, the Iowa Department of Public Health opened eligibility for 2009 H1N1 vaccinations to all persons and not just those in the priority groups. While everyone is now eligible and all are encouraged to get a 2009 H1N1 vaccination, Johnson County Public Health officials stress the importance of those in the priority groups to get vaccinated. A third wave of the H1N1 pandemic is expected and those persons most vulnerable to severe complications due to influenza need to be protected. Parents are also reminded that all children 9 years of age and younger need to receive two doses of vaccine in order to be fully protected.
