Harold Pagel

Harold Leslie Pagel, 96, passed away Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral Services were held Aug. 16 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama.
Harold was born on Nov. 6, 1915, in rural Tama. He was the fourth son born to August Joseph and Mary (Bahrenfuss) Pagel.
Harold and Darlene Violet Appelgate were united in marriage on Dec. 3, 1938, at the parsonage of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Darlene died May 5, 2006, at the age of 87.
Harold was a charter member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was an active member all his life.
Local survivors include his grandson Christopher (Kami) Olthoff of North Liberty.
A memorial fund has been established.
