Help with Turkey to Table for Solon families
SOLON– The Solon Community Pantry is organizing a “Turkey to Table,” ready-to-cook Thanksgiving dinner to be delivered to area families who might not otherwise have a Thanksgiving meal.
Families who are unable to attend Our Lord’s Church free Thanksgiving meal may call 319-430-8655 or 319-333-5037 to arrange for a meal that will contain a frozen 8-10 pound turkey or larger plus all the fixings for a holiday meal. The meals will be delivered to homes Tuesday, Nov. 20.
For those who wish to help with this project, drop boxes are available at Sam’s Main Street Market, Solon Public Library, St. Mary Catholic Church, Solon United Methodist Church and Our Lord’s Church. Suggested items: potatoes/sweet potatoes, bread/rolls, cranberry sauce, stuffing, eggs, pumpkin, pie shells and evaporated milk. The pantry will provide other items to complete a holiday meal . Monetary donations to purchase frozen turkeys for our families can be made to the Solon Pantry and mailed to: P.O. Box 206.
This was a very successful project last year and we hope to bring holiday cheer to even more families this year.
