Hildegarde A. Lueck of Dyersville and formerly of New Vienna died peacefully on Jan. 23, 2014, in her home at the Ellen Kennedy Living Center in Dyersville, surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Jan. 27 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. John O’Connor officiated.
Hildegarde was born on March 4, 1923, in New Vienna, the daughter of Albin and Helena (Bruggeman) Koopmann. She married Herbert H. Lueck on Nov. 8, 1944, in New Vienna. Her life was simple, her faith strong, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her life.
Hildegarde is survived by two sons: Leon (Jean Oberbroeckling) Lueck of Swisher, and David (Ann Griffin) Lueck of Des Moines; three daughters: Sr. Karen Lueck, FSPA, of La Crosse, Wis., Janet Lueck of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Ann (Russ) Knepper of Peosta; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law: Mary (Berns) Koopmann of Garnavillo, and Sr. Helen Esther Lueck, FSPA, of La Crosse, Wis.
