Holy Trinity to host fair trade, international bazaar Nov. 25
NORTH LIBERTY–Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will host a Ten Thousand Villages Bazaar Nov. 25 from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 650 240th St. (corner of 240th and Highway 965). The bazaar is open to the public.
This bazaar is an exceptional opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts such as unique handmade jewelry, home décor, art and sculpture, textiles, and serve ware representing the diverse cultures of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Also available will be coffee, tea, and olive oil. Make purchases knowing that the people producing these products are being fairly compensated.
Proceeds from the Ten Thousand Villages Bazaar go to the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), which works to establish a sustainable market for handmade products in North America and builds long term buying relationships in places where skilled artisan partners lack opportunities for stable income. Product sales help pay for food, education, healthcare and housing for artisans who would otherwise be unemployed or underemployed.
