Johnson County Comprehensive Plan

JOHNSON COUNTY– The Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, to discuss the final draft of the Johnson County Comprehensive Plan 2018 and receive public comment. The hearing will take place in the second-floor boardroom of the Johnson County Administration Building located at 913 S. Dubuque Street in Iowa City. Interested participants are welcome to attend.
Copies of the current plan and related Appendices, labeled “For Public Hearing” and dated 1/29/2018, are available online at www.jocoplan.com and at www.johnson-county.com. Paper copies of the two-volume document are available at the following offices in the County Administration Building: Auditor (first floor); Board of Supervisors (second floor); and Planning, Development and Sustainability (second floor).
County residents and interested groups submitted comments on an earlier, near-final draft during a public open house held Dec. 5, 2017, or through a survey offered Nov. 28 through Dec. 15, 2017. In mid-January, the Board of Supervisors reviewed all the input along with staff recommendations on how to incorporate input. Revisions included clarifications, corrections, changes and reorganization of some sections for clarity.
