Liberty’s distance men compete in Dickinson Relays

CEDAR FALLS– The Liberty High varsity distance runners started the 2021 track and field season with an appearance in the Dickinson Relays held Tuesday, March 9, at the UNI-Dome, in Cedar Falls.
Seniors Bo Gryp, Jack Kinzer and Caleb Schillinger and junior Christian Montover competed in one of the very few indoor meets being held this season. Gryp and Montover ran the 1,600-meter run with Gryp finishing 11th in 4:35.99 while Montover was 26th in 4:55.36. Kinzer was second in the 3,200-meter run in 9:48.14 with Schillinger taking 14th place in 10:16.59.
The Lightning are scheduled to run at Iowa City Regina Catholic High School’s invitational on Saturday, March 27, and in Nevada on Tuesday, March 30. The Bolts travel to Kingston Stadium in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, April 1, for an invitational starting at 4:30 p.m.
