Library adds language program
The Solon Public Library is excited to announce that TELL ME MORE language learning software, beginner through advanced, is now available free to patrons. It is accessible online at anytime via any Internet connection.
Languages now offered include: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, and German.
With English, German, Italian, Spanish and French interface languages available, you don’t have to know the language being studied before using the program.
Learners can focus on any area of language learning: reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar and comprehension. Additionally, through cultural activities, users can understand the geography, history, traditions, art, literature, society and economy as well as the cuisine of the language being studied. One of the key features in the program is the ability to practice speaking by comparing a speaker’s tone and pitch (pronunciation) to that of a native speaker. All users need is a headset with a microphone.
The program offers over 37 different types of activities that allow users to practice a variety of skills and has many lessons to choose from. Additionally, learners can easily see their progress and measure how well the program is working by utilizing an assessment and achievement test built into the program.
