Make a difference Oct. 6
NORTH LIBERTY– Seven North Liberty churches will be hosting the “Make A Difference” service project on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Work teams from First United Methodist, Grace Community, Holy Trinity Lutheran, Hope Evangelical, Life Church, St. Thomas More and St. Silas Lutheran will be fanning out all over North Liberty performing community service in three-hour shifts. Service projects will include yard work, winter weatherization of homes, small construction jobs, and many other projects at no cost, to improve the lives of the North Liberty community.
“This is our chance– as churches– to give back in the community and make a difference in someone’s life through our love of God,” said Bev Byram-Howe, the originator of the project. “This will be our sixth year for this project, and it just keeps getting bigger.”
The goal is for 150 people to participate in some way. Children and youth are welcome to participate with their families.
