NL First United Methodist Church fundraiser to battle poverty in America
NORTH LIBERTY– The First United Methodist Church in North Liberty is holding a fundraiser to beat hunger, poverty, and isolation in eastern Kentucky.
After watching a television special about the hidden hunger in America, church members contacted Homecoming Church in Inez, Ky. – the main distribution center for Kentucky's poorest citizens – to help unemployed parents and their children who are struggling to survive.
The church will begin collecting clothes, food, personal items and money. Our goal is to collect enough for a hundred $10 Wal-mart gift cards to distribute to these folks.
There will be a box at the North Liberty Library or at the North Liberty First United Methodist Church for donations of food and clothing—gift cards and cash can be dropped in the church office.
