NL Pantry becomes United Way of Johnson County partner agency
NORTH LIBERTY– The North Liberty Community Pantry (NLCP) is proud to announce its Partner Agency status with United Way of Johnson County.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to work with United Way to increase our impact and community connections, create sustainability for the pantry, and work towards the 2020 Vision Goals for the Common Good,” Tina DuBois, NLCP executive director stated. The pantry provides food and clothing to those in need in North Liberty and small towns in Johnson County. The pantry also provides educational activities for families regarding healthy food preparation, and works in partnership with all Johnson County pantries to ensure community needs are being met.
The North Liberty Community Pantry completed a rigorous application and vetting process as part of the Partner Agency enrollment process. Partner status began on July 1, and the formal public announcement took place at the United Way of Johnson County Community Campaign Kick-Off.
“The North Liberty Community Pantry plays a vital role in meeting immediate needs and advancing the common good, both in North Liberty and as a partner in county-wide efforts to reduce food insecurity,” said Christine Scheetz, United Way of Johnson County President and CEO. “We look forward to working together to help children succeed in school, families achieve financial stability and improve health.”
