Norman J. Rayman
Norman J. Rayman, 69, Pembroke Pines, Fla. died Dec. 21, 2008 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Cedar Rapids to Joseph and Mary (Terbl) Rayman on Dec. 26, 1938.
He is survived by his children Joseph (Jen) Rayman of Roswell, Ga., Ernest Rayman of Kennesaw, Ga., and Deborah (Travis) Burke of Okatie, S.C.; grandchildren Matthew Rayman and Nolan Burke; his wife Susan Licata-Rayman, step-children Travis and Cortney Licata all of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; sisters Nadine Hoffey of Cedar Rapids, Nargi (Ed) Steinbrech of Solon, and brother Joed Rayman of Cedar Rapids.
He graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1957 and Northrop Institute in California. He had a life long career with the FAA initiated in California, moved to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Miami, Fla. and retired after 35 years of service. He remained active in real estate.
He was a warm weather buff maintaining any kind of mechanical equipment from automotive to aeronautical, with a huge passion for family, friends, boating, fishing, travel and many volunteer activities.
A private celebration of life will be held in the Florida Keys later at the family’s discretion.
