Seven Clippers earn WaMaC All-Conference

TIFFIN– The WaMaC conference recently named its All-Conference teams for the 2014 baseball season with seven players from Clear Creek Amana (CCA) being recognized for their work on the diamond.
Jacob Klingeman and Nile Rourke were named to the First Team. Klingeman, a senior, was named as an outfielder with a .446 batting average and 41 hits, including six doubles and 11 RBIs. Rourke, a junior, earned his spot as a utility player with a .327 average, 32 hits and a 3-2 pitching record with a 1.24 ERA.
Stephen Jensen, Tanner Bandy and Travis Bowman made it on the Second Team. Jensen, a junior, was the Clippers’ catcher this season with a .384 batting average, 28 hits including three doubles and 17 RBIs. Bandy was named as an outfielder with a .311 average, 28 hits and a pair of doubles while Bowman earned a utility spot. A junior, Bowman had a .070 average and went 1-6 on the mound with a 2.30 ERA.
Robby Swails and Jake Neubauer, both sophomores, were placed on the Honorable Mention team.
Williamsburg’s Ben Grier was named Coach of the Year as the Raiders finished at the top of the division with an 11-1 conference record. Marion and CCA tied for second with 8-4 records followed by Benton Community (5-7), Vinton-Shellsburg (4-8) and Center Point-Urbana and Independence at 3-9 each.
The Clippers finished 2014 with a 20-17 record overall.
