Softball coach Sorden resigns
SOLON– The Solon Community School District (SCSD) will be looking for another head coach.
Activities director Keith McSweeney announced late Monday afternoon that head girls’ softball coach Ben Sorden has decided to pursue other coaching opportunities at the collegiate level.
In two seasons at Solon, Coach Sorden amassed a record of 71-17, and guided the Lady Spartans to two state tournament appearances, including a state runner-up finish earlier this summer. He was named WaMaC East Coach of the Year in both 2011 and 2012 and District Coach of the Year this past season. “The district is sad to see Coach Sorden leave but wish him success in his future softball endeavors,” McSweeney noted.
