Solon Public Library

Unattended children policy

(except for early-out Thursdays)
The Solon Public Library welcomes the use of its services and facilities by children, but cannot assume the responsibility for children left unattended on the library premises. That responsibility must be assumed by the parent or caregiver.
Children under the age of 10 may not be left unattended at any time. Another child acting as babysitter must be at least 11 years old.
A parent or caregiver attending a function in a meeting room may not leave a child unattended in the play area.
Children between 10 and 13 years may be unattended in the library for no more than two hours.
If an attendee is disruptive, the parent or guardian will be asked, after a second warning, to remove the child from the library.
If an unattended child continues with disruptive behavior after two warnings, he or she will be asked to wait in the work room. The parent or guardian will be notified and asked to pick up the child.

Solon Heating and Air’s phone number incorrectly lists library

The library has been receiving calls for Solon Heating and Air Conditioning as Yellowbook mistakenly printed the library phone number for Solon Heating and Air’s yellow pages listing. The correct phone number for Solon Heating and Air is 319-624-2679.

Teen Halloween Party

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is sponsoring the second annual Teen Halloween Party on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 8 until 10 p.m. This party will include games, such as, edible eyeball creation, black balloon relays, blindfold taste-testing, “eyeball” bouncing, and a mummy making race.
Make sure to dress up in your costume so you can compete in the costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for the scariest, funniest, cutest and the most elaborate costume. This program is for sixth through 12th graders.

Volunteers needed

The library is looking for volunteers to come and help clean out our flowerbeds. This will be taking place on Saturday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m. If you are interested in helping, you can just come to library that morning. If you have any questions about volunteering, call the library at 319-624-2678.
