2018 Advocate Trips

Saturday, March 10: Old Creamery Theatre “Murdered by the Mob” Mystery Dinner Theater, cost is $50. It’s the Roaring ‘20s and you’ll be roaring with laughter at Mr. D’Angelo’s speakeasy, where the mere mention of prohibition is prohibited. Hosted at the newly opened Price Creek Event Center in Amana for a fantastic Italian feast served with a heaping side of mob bosses, murder and merriment. Call if you are interested!
Thursday, March 22: Nomi’s Asian Restaurant, Solon. Meet at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area at 4 p.m., the cost is $5.
Thursday, April 19: Cedar Falls Barn Quilt Tour, TBA; 13 quilt barn sites located in and around the Cedar Falls area.
Thursday, May 17: Kalona, Salina Bontrager’s, cost is $55. Golden Delight Bakery, Stringtown Grocery, Community Store, Perry Bender Greenhouse.

Wednesday, Aug. 22: Circa 21,“Mamma Mia,” the cost is $75. 2008 British-American-Swedish musical romantic comedy film adapted from the 1999 West End/2001 Broadway musical of the same name, based on the songs of successful pop group ABBA.

Senior Conversations

Art Tellin, our area garden guru, will talk about when, where and how to plant– what catalogs and what seeds to select and how to mix your own soils. Come join us and bring your green thumb.

Meal & a Movie

Friday, March 30, at the Solon Public Library at 11 a.m.

The movie is free. Winston Churchill was instrumental in waging England’s part in WWII and this movie captures his wisdom and ability to work with the Allies in forging peace.
