Spooky (and less spooky) fun descends this October

NORTH LIBERTY– October brings a ton of Halloween fun to North Liberty, including a variety of public events. And with this year including a Friday the 13th, who knows what’s going to happen?
Learn the real history of the Salem Witch Trials, when more 200 were accused of witchcraft– and 20 were executed– in Colonial America at Devil Has My Consent on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the North Liberty Community Library.
The always-popular Haunted Happenings is scheduled on Thursday, Oct. 26, and Friday, Oct. 27, from 6:30-8 p.m. each day. The annual event features games, fun, snacks and more. Admission is $2 per child, nine and younger, at the door either night. Don’t worry about a camera, photos will be taken free of charge by Sandi Spurrell Photography and posted to her website just days later.
The city hosts its annual Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the community center parking lot.
Trick or Treating takes place citywide on Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. Don’t be the chump out asking for candy without a costume. Consider participating in the Teal Pumpkin Project by offering non-food treats for kids with allergies or otherwise unable to take food. The North Liberty Fire Department will host trick-or-treating at the station, 25 W. Cherry St., for kids of all ages.
