St. Andrews Drive (270th Street) renovation project to take place through Fri., August 8
NORTH LIBERTY - St. Andrews Drive west of Jones Boulevard (formerly known as 270th Street) to Kansas Avenue will be closed for improvements from Aug. 4 to 8. The project should be totally completed by Aug. 15, weather permitting.
L.L. Pelling is performing the reconstruction work. The project includes a seven-inch base of MacAdams rock, a three-inch layer of Class A choke stone and a double sealcoat with 3/8” chip.
When completed, the renovation will raise the elevation of the road surface and improve drainage along the route. Motorists should avoid this area while construction is underway. Questions can be addressed to North Liberty City Hall at (319) 626-5700.
Last Friday, Aug. 1, L.L. Pelling began work on Front Street in North Liberty between Zeller and Cherry Streets. This project will replace the asphalt surface of the road. The street remained open to local traffic only.
Friday was also the commencement date for the resurfacing project on Sugar Creek Lane and the portion of Zeller Street at Casey’s General Store.
Construction continues on improvements to the on- and off-ramps at Exit 4 of I-380 (the Penn Street interchange). Metro pavers will be completing this project, which will include installing traffic signals at both off-ramps, over the next six months.
