Steven Douglas Landuyt
Steven Douglas Landuyt, 67, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on June 25, 2014, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. Military honors were held June 28 at Bienhoff Funeral Home, Perry, Missouri. Private family interment services will be held at a later date.
Steve was born June 22, 1947, in Grinnell, the son of René Frank and Marge (Lyman) Landuyt. He was married to Marcia Sass and she preceded him in death. He then married Lori Barney on April 25, 2008, in Columbia, Missouri and she survives.
Survivors include; his mother, Marge Landuyt of Marengo; two daughters Kim Landuyt of Atlanta, Georgia, and Debbie Rhinehart and her husband Lynn of North Liberty; three brothers, Richard Landuyt of Downey, California, Greg and Nancy Landuyt of Greenfield, Indiana, Jeff and Kari Landuyt of Blairstown; one sister, Darlene (Skip) Kasal of Belle Plaine; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and an infant brother.
After graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1966 until 1972. He was employed as a cement truck driver for Hawkeye Ready Mix for many years. He retired after working in security for State Farm Insurance Company for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1976 in North Liberty. He moved to Missouri in 2007. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
