NORTH LIBERTY— Two appointed boards have three openings, and volunteers are needed to help lead and advise on those commissions.

Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals for building permit approval when a permit has been denied because of non-compliance with certain requirements of the zoning code.  This board meets only when an appeal has been filed.

Communications Advisory Commission

(two openings)

The Communications Advisory Commission recommends and reviews policies, rules, regulations, ordinances, and budgets relating to communications and engagement initiatives of the city and makes such reports to the council as the commission deems in the public interest. They also assure the operation of the public access channel be as free of program censorship and control as legally possible. The commission meets quarterly.
Appointments are to complete two unexpired terms, one ending June 30, 2018 and one ending June 30, 2020.  Full appointments are for a three-year term.
Applications are available online at northlibertyiowa.org or at City Hall, 3 Quail Creek Circle. Applications are due Dec. 29.
