William “Bill” Sibley, 60, of North Liberty, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The funeral service was at Oak Hill Funeral Home in Coralville.

Bill was born Jan. 11, 1952, in Iowa City. He was the son of William and Ione Sibley. Bill graduated from West High School in 1970 and attended the University of Iowa. He worked for his father at their business, Sibley Upholstery, for many years. He retired after working 25 years at the University of Iowa. He married Janine Zemke on June 26, 1976. From this union came three children: Alexa, Erika and Jonathan. In April 1985, he married Ila Irving, and they resided in North Liberty.
Bill had a love of music, which started when he played the trumpet in grade school. He was also an avid fan of NFL football, especially the Chicago Bears.
Survivors include Ila, his wife of 27 years; daughters, Alexa (Eric) Hoffmann of Dexter, and Erika Sibley of Ankeny; a son, Jonathan (Shae) Sibley of Phoenix, Ariz.; his siblings, Sue Powers of Parnell, Becky (Tom) Reichelt of North Liberty, Libby (John) Lee of Coralville and Scott Sibley also of North Liberty; his former wife, Janine Zemke Jordison; and six grandchildren.
