Women’s Club makes Music Camperships available
SOLON– The General Federation of Women’s Club (GFWC) and Iowa Women’s club sponsors several music campership awards for deserving sixth-12th grade students. These awards can be applied toward tuition and room and board at a summer music camp within Iowa. Camperships are awarded in the amount of $400. Award recipients are responsible for the balance of their costs.
Applications can be obtained at the Solon High School guidance counselor’s office, or by contacting Eileen Hageman, firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications should be picked up and completed as soon as possible due to the need for a recommendation letter. Completed applications need to be postmarked prior to March 1.
Camperships are able to be awarded through a generous gift to GFWC/Iowa by the Lucille Miller estate as well as yearly contributions from Iowa/GFWC Clubs. The General Federation of Women’s Club is an international organization that is dedicated to strengthening communities and enhancing the lives of others through community service. Locally, the Solon Women’s Club is part of that organization.
