Statement on Jim Warkentin’s resignation

NORTH LIBERTY– North Liberty City Attorney Scott Peterson released the following Wednesday, Feb. 6, regarding the departure of North Liberty Police Chief Jim Warkentin.
“Jim Warkentin has tendered his resignation as chief of police effective February 1, 2013. The City Council will consider Jim’s resignation at its next meeting. The City of North Liberty would like to thank Jim for his service to the community and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
The release included this statement from Warkentin:
“For personal reasons, I have resigned as chief of police effective February 1, 2013,” Jim Warkentin said. “I want to thank the community for its support throughout the years, and I want to thank the City and the staff with whom I have had the pleasure to work.”
