NORTH LIBERTY– Three of North Liberty’s major road improvement projects will proceed to their next phases, after the council approved contracts with local engineering firms last Tuesday.
The city entered into agreements with Shive-Hattery, Inc., of Iowa City for design, bidding and construction services for the reconstruction of Forevergreen Rd. from Highway 965 to Jones Blvd., and for connecting Golfview Drive from the Noel subdivision to the Golfview subdivision.
The Forevergreen Rd. improvements are estimated to cost $1.3 million, with Shive-Hattery’s fees set at $127,000. The construction of the east-to-west Golfview Dr. connection will cost approximately $978,900; Shive-Hattery will receive $143,000 for the design, bidding and construction services on that project.
Finally, the city approved a $372,500 contract with McClure Engineering for engineering services on the first phase of improvements to Highway 965. The initial $2.6 million construction phase will include the addition of stoplights along the highway at the intersections of Ashley Ct., Golfview Dr. and Cherry St.
