Angela Nejdl Everett (of Ginsberg Jewelers, Cedar Rapids), arrived at St. Luke’s Hospital 8:05 a.m. on Oct. 3, 1948. Departed St. Luke’s at 5:43 p.m. on Feb. 18, 2009.
Angela was the daughter of Robert and Vilma (Polehna) Nejdl. She also leaves behind Aunt Vera; cousins; many friends; and her menagerie, Emily, Yusa, Icky Bird, The Mayor and Gracie.
Her lifetime devotion to her animals was evident over many years. One example was having a prosthetic beak made for her pet goose, Husa.
Angela’s life was influenced by her Czech heritage. She spent many happy times on the “Avenue” with her parents and grandparents, Martin and Viki Polehna.
Because of her love of adventure, she was a trusted travel agent and guide to her family and friends. Angela traveled extensively around the world, but her true home was on the farm.
She was never at a loss for words, and when she did speak, it only took a few words to make a lasting impression.
Bob and Vilma raised a “hell of a woman.”
Angela requested to be cremated and have no services. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Health Foundation for the Underinsured or Uninsured or a charity of your choice.
Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, Cedar Rapids, is serving the family.
