Herman A. Eagle Jr., 60, of Greenfield, Mo., passed away May 19, 2009, at home after a short battle with cancer. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside, with family present one hour before services. A luncheon in the church basement will follow services. Brumback Funeral Home, Stockton, Mo., is in charge of arrangements and cremation.
Herman was born May 31, 1948, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Herman Sr. and Leona (Bales) Eagle. He graduated from Highland High School in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Stockton, Mo. Among his many talents, he farmed, was a carpenter and collected pollen for allergy medicine at Allergon in Carthage, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; two daughters, Randi Hegwer (Matt) and three children, Jonathan, Haden and Ryan, and Amber Heinz and three children, Kenzee, Kobe and Addison; four sisters, Joan (Jim) Godwin of Washington, Iowa, Jean (Jim) Hermann of Cedar Rapids, Jan (Bill) Neal of Riverside and Karen (Art) Hoefer of Swisher; sister-in-law, Marilyn Eagle of Riverside; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Robert; and one sister, Maxine Doughty.
He was a great storyteller and loved to make people laugh. He was a great outdoorsman and loved to fish.
He will be greatly missed but fondly remembered.
