Lillian Mae Hipple, 96, of Tipton, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton from natural causes.
Visitation was held on Thursday at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Service was Friday with Rev. Richard Smith officiating. Burial was held at Red Oak Cemetery, Tipton.
Lillian was born May 24, 1913, in Pottawattamie County to Jerry Schlicht and Anna Schroeder. She later graduated from Walnut High School and married John Vernon Hipple on April 29, 1937, in Woodstock, Ill. Lillian was a homemaker and a member of the Tipton Women’s Club, Tipton Senior Center, and was a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was a member of the Red Oak Grove Presbyterian Church.
Lillian is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Hipple, of Tipton; grandson Greg (Pat) Hipple of Solon; granddaughters Debra (Michael) Peterson of Carpentersville, Ill., and Teresa (Jeff) King of Tipton; and great-grandchildren Janeen and Gary Hipple, Britton Stotler, Alex and Logan Peterson, Zachary and Taylor Doermann, Courtney and Ryan King.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Donald V. Hipple.
