NORTH LIBERTY– On Sunday, August 9, Grace Community Church will be doing something they have never done before. Instead of members attending a worship service that morning, the congregation of 800 to 900 will be challenged to go into the community and participate in service projects. These projects are being planned in North Liberty, Coralville and Iowa City.
The church invites the community to join in this day of service, including school parent/teacher groups, city leaders, property owners, social workers, and members of other churches to make this a cooperative day of helping. There will be things for everyone to do regardless of skill. That evening, volunteers and project recipients are invited back to the church for a picnic celebration.
Organizers seek help in identifying community projects. If you have a need or are aware of others in need (painting, cleaning, landscaping, repair, meals, visiting, light construction, etc.) please contact Tom Widmer, 319-626-2040, email email@example.com , or contact Natlie Wilkerson, 319-626-2558 or firstname.lastname@example.org .
