IOWA CITY– Terrence Neuzil, chairperson of the Johnson County Board of Supervisors, will hold his “Government and You” Listening Posts in December. The listening posts provide residents an opportunity to discuss local, state and national government issues in an informal setting. Each month during the listening posts, citizens also can learn and discuss a hot and emerging issue that Johnson County is facing. In December, the Hot Topics Discussion will be on the investment of county tax dollars in social services. From the Crisis Center, DVIP, RVAP, UAY and other United Way agencies to the Visiting Nurses Association, senior programs and MECCA, residents interested in learning more about Johnson County’s block grant programs to help those most in need are encouraged to attend.
