NORTH LIBERTY– Jones Boulevard will between Penn Street and Liberty Way is currently closed for construction. The duration of this closure is estimated at approximately one month. Motorists are advised to use Cherry Street and Liberty Way as detour routes during this time.
Jones Boulevard will be closed starting Monday, May 23, from 400 ft. south of St. Andrews Drive to Harvest Street. This closure is estimated at six to eight weeks and is Phase One of the Jones Boulevard reconstruction project. Alternate routes include Forevergreen Road, Prairie Street and Fairview Lane.
“All construction projects are contingent on weather,” said City Administrator Ryan Heiar. “The closures are inconvenient and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation. North Liberty is the second fastest growing city in Iowa and we are attempting to accommodate that growth, which means improving roads. We are making our best efforts to get through this season as quickly and safely as possible.”
